Although it is quite easy to move around Hong Kong, I wanted to be able to just leave the hotel and walk everywhere. And since each neighborhood has its own vibe, basically doing the research and booking hotels in different areas was like a tourist attraction on its own.

For the first couple of days, I was on my own and wanted a hotel that was right in the heart of the action – close to restaurants, shops, and everything lively, not tucked away somewhere quiet. Later, my husband joined me, and we decided to try a different neighborhood together. Since we were spending a full week in the city, we thought it would be fun to base ourselves in two separate areas and really get a feel for what each part of Hong Kong has to offer.

By the end of our trip, I had stayed in three neighborhoods, each with its own vibe, pace, and conveniences, and it gave me a much richer sense of the city.
